Following my book title and going Around the World in 80 Movies includes a journey to the center of the earth and exploration of Wendover in The Core Weds. July 13 at noon in Reno's OLLI theater on Moana Lane. The program includes a screening plus details about helping the 2003 release use Nevada resources during filming near the state border at the Wendover Air Base. While The Core drills holes in scientific knowledge, it reached kind of fan base during parties featuring a prize for the viewer who could find the most mistakes. Starring Aaron Eckhart, Hilary Swank, Delroy Lindo, and Stanley Tucci, the plot goes around the world to such iconic locations as Paris, Rome, San Francisco, and--of course--Wendover.
