Money, Fascism and Some Sort of Acid

Though not one to take life lightly, filmmaker Janek Ambros takes an absurdist look at serious issues in Money, Fascism, and Some Sort of Acid. Presenting five short stories within the film, Ambros tackles the Wall Street crash, the military industrial complex, and Dostoyevsky using a variety of approaches including rapid fire narration, intense colors, plus black-and-white stock footage when he investigates populist government protests in Paris. Titles like “Survival of the Unfittest” indicate his concerns, with his hope verbalized as

“The destroyers will destroy themselves and those with clear minds will rebuild society.” With an experimental tone that creates visual interest, the project draws attention to matters that many prefer to avoid thinking about despite their vital relevance to everyday life.
